"My works are part of a process to understand the history of war and violence from the point of view of addressing several questions that revolve around the idea of ‘the enemy’." – T. V. Santhosh
History Lab and the Elegy of Visceral Incantations looks at artist T. V. Santhosh's practice over the last fifteen years, culminating in the exhibition of the same title, held at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum in collaboration with The Guild in 2024. This publication takes a careful look at the artist's work, studying his evolving practice. The volume features some of Santhosh's own writing, interviews with curators Margherita Artoni and Maya Kóvskaya, and essays by critics Nancy Adajania, Premjish Achari, Siddharth Sivakumar, Najrin Islam, Renuka Sawhney, Prajna Desai, Sathyanand Mohan, Anushka Rajendran and Gitanjali Dang.
History Lab also features 240 full colour images of over 145 works, as well as rarely-seen installation images from various installations and exhibitions over the years.
